The blog in question looks like a Libertarian/Computer blog of some kind but his point about the Nice Guy Paradox rings true in my experience as a former nice guy now toughened up.
Simply put
Women like when guys are nice to them, but only when they don’t have to be.
or in other less bitter words
Women want guys that are both strong and nice .
