What Happens if/when We Loose the FISA Fight?
Right now I am pretty sure we are going to be sold down the river on F.I.S.A.
This simply because most of the members of the House and Senate do not believe in anything more than the almighty campaign contribution.
They have had ample opportunity to pass and mandate full public funding for campaigns but they haven’t chosen to do so.
The reasons for this are also simple,
#1 taking corporate money lets them avoid thinking about or understanding issues
#2 it also insulates them from dealing with ordinary people.
Because of the corrosive effects of the legalized bribery we call the campaign finance system have an inept and dangerous government. The best that short sighted multi national corporations can buy.
As I see it in order to reign in the wrong doing at every level of government its our job to get all of the sellouts gone from office come next elections.
Every single candidate that votes for immunity or any of the other Anti American legislation promulgated by lobbyists should lose his job.
After all of the bureaucracy can be cleaned up and every single apparachik and member of our own Nomenklatura can be fired, subject to the law and the Constitution. Put in some good people, leave in the hard workers and give the political hacks the boot.
Call it a clean sweep if you like
Then our chosen replacements need to put in for federal term limits, campaign reform and electoral reform.
Those are the things we will have to do for the long term if we want America on the right track. Sticking with the current system just isn’t going to cut it.
Getting there won’t be easy but with the internet to connect us and millions of voices we can challenge every candidate in every primary. We certainly won’t win right away but of we stay focused we can slowly but surely chip away at the corruption and in so doing put America to rights.
