Gun for Felons? Why Not?

On the A.P. I doubt this case will be resolved in the mans favor as the Supreme Court is rather statist however. In my opinion it should be.

I know its not a popular idea but if a person has done their time (or probation) it is wrong to take away a fundamental right, the right to bear arms. Its the Second one in the bill of rights, and may not be infringed. Obviously a person in custody can have some rights temporarily suspended but once they are released all of them revert to the individual.

For the same basic reason I oppose housing restrictions for pedophiles and other sex offenders. If a person is too dangerous to be out in public, give them a life sentence. Otherwise making people who have already paid for a crime live under a bridge because of fear is simply evil. Punsihment after the fact is wrong. Anyway a place to live ought to be a basic human right.

let me add that jobs which are licensed for reasons of public safety are a different matter. Its perfectly OK to prohibit a child molester from teaching. Having any job you want is not a right. You have to meet requirements and not having been a rapist can and in most cases should be one them.
