Tazers are Torture
According to the UN via Aussie Daily Telegraph .
I am inclined to agree. A I see it the the weapon is just too much of a temptation to abuse and no amount of training will make up for that.
Used only on armed suspects, especially say knife wielders it can save lives but it is too often misused on http://www.ky3.com/home/video/25829234.html, “lippy” suspects like the “don’t tase me bro dude” and 82 year old heart patients. This happens often enough to suggest that the device should be prohibited for police use and possibly manufacture.
Just listening to someone who is tased scream is sufficient ground to consider it a torture device as well.
