Terence Mckenna on Psychedelics

Monday, October 20th, 2008

I don’t necessarily agree with the late Mr. Mckenna on the value of blasting open the doors of consciousness but when he calls it a civil rights issue, well he’s right. Its you body and mind to do with what you wish. Altering how you see reality is your human right.
“We’re playing with half a […]

Proof the U.S. is as my Cousin would say Dumb as Bag of Hammers

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

872,721 Pot Arrests.

Why do we do this?
Pot is safer than booze, not especially addictive and for many people a whole lot of fun.
About the only downsides other than making a person a bit dumb if overused (its called dope for a reason) are the munchies and sometimes sudden lack of desire […]

Cutting Kids Health in California, an Indirect Casualty of the Drug and Vice War

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

This shabby tactic promulgated by California’s movie star Governor is a distressingly common practice in politics sometimes called the Washington Monument Gambit –
See! See! If I don’t get my way we’ll be so broke I’ll have to close the Washington Monument (or National Parks or whatever) something high profile that people […]

A Third Reason My Goverment Scares Me More Than Any Terrorists

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Treating ordinary Marijuana Dealing as Terrorism.
Folks the Patriot Act isn’t about patriotism at all. Its about turning the US into a prison, more or less. Its also designed to erode or destroy every Constitutional and traditional protection (such as a wifes traditional legal right not to incriminate her husband) we have. In our fanatical […]

Patti Davis on Newsweek “America’s Troubled House.”

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I rarely have much truck with old line media but this article on Police Violence is entirely excellent.
This quote sums up the experience Mayor Calvo and other who been subjected to this police state style law enforcement beautifully.

Mayor Calvo came downstairs into a new time in America, in which no one is presumed innocent and […]

My friends at the Seminal have a new article of mine up.
How the Drug War makes Things Worse.
Enjoy.

The Shooting of the Mayor’s Dogs Part 2

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Another reason why it matters to you, this time on the Huffington Post .
Obviously we need a through outside investigation of this stupidity but beyond that the Huff-Po makes this point

The second lesson has to do with the “War on Drugs”. Drug enforcement officials had tracked this package from Arizona. A SWAT team […]

News of the Obvious: Mexican Cartels have Pot Farms in National Forests

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

CNN has an interesting if less than timely article on the Drug Cartel pot farms. These things have been going on for years, so I am guessing wither the Drug Czar put out a press release for C.N.N to lap up or its just a slow news day.
Still its a decent enough article and […]

John Stossel: Legalize All Drugs

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Via Real Clear Politics:
Its a clean, simple and excellent persuasive essay.
Folks I have seen first hand the horrors drugs inflict on people. Lost good people to the effects of drugs, legal and illegal. I still agree with Stossel though.
Keeping them illegal just makes things worse.

A Great Overlooked Book on the Dangers of Meth

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Its in the Young Adult section so you might not have seen it.
Crank. by Ellen Hopkins.
This story is gut wrenching, lyrical and so true.
The lead character, Kristina reminds me so much of some of my younger acquaintances its painful to read.
I highly recommend this book for teens or adults.

Ab Prosper. Its a community about freedom, prosperity, and the things that matter most
